Medical Standards.:  As per laid down procedures, updated from time to time. However, broad guidelines are as follows, (a) Height. (i) Asst Commandant (GD) and Technical: 157 cms minimum. Reduction in height for candidates from hilly areas and tribal areas will be in accordance with the Central Govt. regulations. (ii) Asst Commandant General duty (Women) : 152 cms. (iii) Asst Commandant (Pilot) and Asst Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders for Short Service Appointment (Men/Women): Minimum Hight 162.5 cms and maximum 197 cms leg length minimum 99 cms. (b) Weight. Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable. (c) Chest. Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms. (d) Eye Sight. (i) Asst Commandant (GD) - 6/6 6/9 – Uncorrected without Glass. and Asst Comdt GD(Women) 6/6 6/6 - Corrected with Glass. (ii) Asst Commandant GD(Pilot) 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other /CPL Holders SSA correctable to 6/6. (iii) Asst Commandant (Tech) 6/36 6/36 – Uncorrected without Glass. 6/6 6/6 - Corrected with Glass.
Selection Procedure. (a) Short listing of Applications. Short listing criteria will be based on higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination and the qualifying cut off for a particular branch or centre may be increased more than 60% if more applications with higher % are received. Stage -I (b) Preliminary Selection. Shortlisted candidates will be called for Preliminary Selection at given date and time which will consist of Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). The aptitude test will be in English only and will be objective type. Date/ time and venue of Preliminary Selection once allotted will not be changed at any stage. Candidates are required to appear at the centre with the following documents:- (i) Two copies of computer generated pre-filled online application form with recent colour passport size photo affixed. (not older than 03 months). (ii) Original pass certificate and marks sheet of 10th class. (iii) Original pass certificate and marks sheet of 12th examination/equivalent. (iv) Original Degree Certificate with all semester / years mark sheets of BE /BTech /Graduation with CPA/CGPA conversion for percentage marks from university. (v) Proof of identity such as passport, driving license, Aadhaar card, voter ID card, college ID card or any other photo identity proof. (vi) Character certificate (should not older than six months on the date called for PSB). (vii) Caste Certificate (if applicable) in original as per Govt. of India format for OBC and State for SC/ST candidates.  (viii) Current and Valid Commercial Pilot License (issued & validated by DGCA) in original and flying log book for Asst Commandant CPL entry only.
Schedule for Preliminary Selection Examination : Candidates to reach the allotted centre at least 30 minutes prior to starting of Exam. The date and time of the examination will be intimated through candidates e-mail ID and Coast Guard website . Preliminary Selection will be tentatively commenced from 15 Jun 16 at following centres or any other Centre promulgated by Coast Guard:-

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination:
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 sections as follows:
English Language         : 30 Questions
Quantitative Aptitude    : 35 Questions
Reasoning Ability         : 35 Questions

Phase – II: Main Examination:
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks.Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.
(I) Objective Test: The Objective Test of 3 hours duration consists of 4 sections for total 200 marks. The Objective Test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

Eligibility conditions : (As on 31/03/2016) :
a) For Generalist Stream : A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of a Degree in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government.
b) For Specialist Stream : A candidate must possess the minimum qualification of Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government.
The minimum Educational Qualification required for various disciplines are :
Finance-Chartered Accountant (ICAI)/Cost Accountant (ICWA)/MBA Finance /M.Com/B.Com
Mechanical & Electrical Engineering - B.E/B.Tech in Civil Engineering OR Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with Diploma (at least one year duration) in Civil Engineering
Legal - Degree in law from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government. (3 Years experience as a practicing Layer (2 yrs for SC/ST) is preferable).
Actuary - Bachelors degree in Statistics/Mathematics/Actuarial Science or any other quantitative discipline
Note :
1. MBA Finance candidates must furnish certificate from University confirming their specialization in Finance at the time of interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the Interview.
2. Working knowledge of Computer is a must.
Emoluments and Benefits : Rs.48,000/-
Age : A candidate must be of the Minimum Age of 21 years and the Maximum Age of 30 years as on 31.03.2016.
Application Fee/Intimation charges : SC/ ST/ Persons with Disability (PWD), Permanent Employees of UIIC : Rs. 100/- (Intimation charges only). All others : Rs. 600/- (Application fee including Intimation charges). Selection Procedure : The final selection will be made on the basis of overall performance in Online Examination and Interview.

 Guarantee Bond : Before joining as probationer, the selected candidates for appointment on regular pay-rolls of the Company will be required to give an undertaking to serve the Company for a minimum period of four years including probationary period. In the event of their resigning from the Company before the expiry of the bond period, they will be liable to pay liquidated damages equivalent to one year’s gross salary paid to them during the year of probation which could be proportionately reduced depending upon the length of service rendered. Besides, he/she will have to submit a stamped Bond duly executed by two sureties of sound financial standing, for an amount equivalent to one year’s gross salary in addition to an amount of Rs.25,000/- towards partial cost of training.
